Though I can say I have hardly ever really agreed with Jack's policies, it's good to know that his clean bill of health is imminent.
From a political standpoint, I'm excited because this will heat the cauldron up a bit. What I mean by this is that according to a recent survey, the Tories have slid a bit in the polls and are approaching the neck-and-neck status with the Liberals. However, Jack hasn't been on the scene for almost the entire summer, which may be, until now.
Michael Ignatieff has been campaigning on a bus during the entire summer and it seems that it may be useless because I hardly feel that he has really convinced many voters to side with him. Honestly, I think most Canadians are becoming more and more apathetic to federal politics. It's been a gong show for a while starting with Helena Guergis and going to the census, which is a smart strategy to encourage less spending in the future. I can't complain.
In fact, I was pleased to hear it. But I digress. Jack Layton being back on the political scene may actually cause the already shaky ground Michael Ignatieff stands on to crumble which is always nice to see. The very fact that Jack Layton has more political experience in Canada, unlike his Liberal counterpart, can make voters feel more at ease. I certainly hope they do and that he continues to split the vote!
